First statement in the 44th Parliament of Canada

Almost two months since the election, I am happy to report that the government has finally called Parliament back.  I was officially sworn in again as your re-elected Member of Parliament on November 12th and I cannot say enough how honoured I am to be serving the constituents of Simcoe—Grey. Thank you again for placing your trust in me. In my first statement in the House of Commons I talked about the need for high-speed internet, for support for our seniors, and for our small businesses. These issues were priorities for me in the last Parliament and they were your priorities at the doors during the election. They will continue to be priorities for me in this Parliament. Since the election ended, however, I am hearing more and more concern about the rapidly increasing cost-of-living and out-of-control inflation. These are quickly becoming critical issues for many families. You will hear a lot from me and the rest of my colleagues on these issues in the months ahead.
