Recognize a deserving volunteer in your community by nominating them for a Simcoe—Grey MP Community Leader Award! A congratulatory luncheon will be held for recipients in Spring or Summer of 2023.

    Please describe in detail why this youth, adult, senior, business, service club or religious organization is deserving of the Simcoe—Grey MP Community Leader Award. Please include all areas that the nominee contributes to and list all volunteer achievements.




    D. Award Nominator Information


    All nomination forms must be submitted by 4:00pm on March 31st, 2023. We thank you for taking the time to complete the nomination form. The nominator will receive written confirmation of the outcome of the nomination. Nominees cannot be staff, staff members family or affiliated directly with the MP.



    Categories


    Youth Recognition Award

    The Youth Recognition Award is presented to an individual under 18 years of age who has gone above and beyond in making a positive difference in the lives of others through volunteering. This could be through school programs, extracurricular activities, youth programs, etc.


    Eligibility Requirements

    • Nominee must reside in Simcoe—Grey.
    • Nominee must be under 18 years of age.
    • The volunteer work must be aside from the 40 hours required to graduate high school.
    • Nominee must not have received payment for their volunteer work.
    • Nominee must be active beyond simple membership in the organization.


    Adult Recognition Award

    The Individual Recognition Award is given to an adult 18 years or older who has demonstrated commitment, dedication and service above self to improving their community by volunteering for not-for-profit organizations, service clubs, community programs etc.


    Eligibility Requirements

    • Nominee must reside in Simcoe—Grey.
    • Nominee must be 18 years of age or older.
    • Nominee must not have received payment for their volunteer work or performed the services as part of their regular business or professional duties.
    • Nominee must be active beyond simple membership in the organization.


    Senior Recognition Award

    The Senior Recognition Award is given to an adult 60 years or older who has positively impacted the wellbeing of other seniors in their community by way of volunteering. This individual performs selfless responsibilities and duties by the way of not-for-profit organizations, service clubs, religious organizations etc.


    Eligibility Requirements

    • Nominee must reside in Simcoe—Grey.
    • Nominee must be 60 years of age or older.
    • Nominee must not have received payment for their volunteer work or performed the services as part of their regular business or professional duties.
    • Nominee must be active beyond simple membership in the organization.


    Business Recognition Award

    The Business Recognition Award is presented to a business that has contributed to the positive development and enhancement of the community. Its involvement could be with local charities, events, community programs etc. by the way of volunteering or activity participating.


    Eligibility Requirements

    • Nominee must operate in Simcoe—Grey.
    • Nominee must have a valid business license (if applicable) and be in good standing with their municipality.
    • Nominee must not have received payment for their volunteer work or performed the services as part of their regular business or professional duties.
    • Nominee must be active beyond simple membership in the organization.
    • Nomination must not be exclusive of financial sponsorship.


    Service Club Recognition or Religious Organization Award

    The Service Club Recognition Award is presented to a Club that has significantly enriched the lives of people in its community. Its involvement could be with local charities, events, fundraisers etc. by the way of volunteering or activity participating.


    Eligibility Requirements

    • Nominee must operate in Simcoe—Grey.
    • Nominee must have a valid business license (if applicable) and be in good standing with their municipality.
    • Nominee must not have received payment for their volunteer work or performed the services as part of their regular business or professional duties.
    • Nominee must be active beyond simple membership in the organization.
    • Nomination must not be exclusive of financial sponsorship.
